How to do it
- Rack the bar on the front of your shoulders with your elbows lifted so your upper arms are near parallel to the floor.
- Step out with your feet slightly wider than your hips and brace your core.
- Squat straight down, keeping your elbows high and your chest tall.
- Drive through your whole foot to stand up without letting your elbows drop.
Coaching cues
- The bar sits on your shoulders, your fingers only steady it, so a loose grip is fine.
- If your elbows drop, the bar will roll forward, so lighten the load and keep them up.
