How to do it
- Stand facing a stable box or step that puts your thigh near parallel when your foot is on it.
- Place one whole foot on the box and shift your weight over it.
- Push through that foot to stand tall on the box, letting the other leg follow without pushing off the floor.
- Step back down under control with the same leg leading, then repeat or alternate.
Coaching cues
- Use a lower box if you have to lunge off the back foot to get up.
- Control the way down, that is where most of the strength is built.
