How to do it

  1. Set a bar or handle on the lowest pulley and stand a step back from the machine.
  2. Hold the handle with an underhand grip and tuck your elbows at your sides.
  3. Curl toward your shoulders, keeping your upper arms still.
  4. Lower under control until your arms are straight and the cable is still under tension.

Coaching cues

  • Standing slightly back from the pulley keeps tension on at the bottom.
  • Keep your torso upright rather than rocking to move the weight.
