How to do it

  1. Sit at the cable row with your feet on the platform and a slight bend in your knees.
  2. Sit tall, grab the handle and let your arms reach forward without letting your back round.
  3. Pull the handle to your waist by driving your elbows back and squeezing your shoulder blades.
  4. Return under control until your arms are straight and your shoulder blades reach forward.

Coaching cues

  • Keep your torso still, avoid rowing with a big lean back and forward.
  • Pause for a beat at the waist to make each rep count.
