How to do it

  1. Put your feet on a chair, step or low box and set your hands on the floor under your shoulders.
  2. Brace your core so your body stays one straight line from heels to head.
  3. Lower your chest toward the floor with your elbows about 45 degrees from your ribs.
  4. Press back up while keeping your hips level and your neck long.

Coaching cues

  • The higher your feet, the more load goes through your shoulders, so raise the height gradually.
  • Come down to a lower surface if your lower back starts to arch.
