How to do it

  1. Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides and a slight bend in your elbows.
  2. Lift both arms out to the sides, leading with your elbows.
  3. Stop when your hands reach about shoulder height and your arms make a T with your body.
  4. Lower slowly back to your sides without letting the weights swing.

Coaching cues

  • Go light, this is a small muscle and momentum kills the effect.
  • Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears the whole time.
