How to do it
- Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat, hip width and close to your hips.
- Tuck your ribs down and press your lower back gently toward the floor.
- Drive through your heels to lift your hips until your knees, hips and shoulders form a straight line.
- Squeeze your glutes at the top for a second, then lower under control.
Coaching cues
- Push the hips up with your glutes, not by arching your lower back.
- If your hamstrings cramp, walk your feet slightly closer to your hips.
