How to do it

  1. Hang from a pull-up bar with an overhand grip and your shoulders pulled down slightly.
  2. Brace your core and stop your body from swinging.
  3. Lift your knees toward your chest by curling your hips up, not just bending your legs.
  4. Lower slowly under control until your legs hang straight again.

Coaching cues

  • Curl your tailbone up at the top, that is what makes the abs work.
  • If you start swinging, pause and reset rather than using the swing for the next rep.
