How to do it
- Sit on a mat with your front leg bent to 90 degrees in front of you and your back leg bent to 90 degrees out to the side.
- Sit tall on both sit bones with your hands on the floor for support.
- Lean your chest gently over the front shin until you feel a stretch in the outside of that hip.
- Hold for the set time, then rotate your knees across to switch to the other side.
Coaching cues
- Sit on a folded towel or cushion if you cannot sit upright on the floor.
- Keep both shins pressed lightly into the mat instead of letting the back leg drift.
