How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet hip width and a kettlebell on the floor between your arches.
  2. Push your hips back, bend your knees and grip the handle with both hands, keeping your back flat.
  3. Brace your core and stand up by driving through the floor and squeezing your glutes.
  4. Lower the bell back down by pushing your hips back, keeping it close to your legs.

Coaching cues

  • Set your back flat before you pull, never round it to reach the handle.
  • Raise the bell on a box or books if you cannot reach it with a flat back.
