How to do it

  1. Kneel on one knee with the other foot flat on the floor in front of you.
  2. Tuck your tailbone under and squeeze the glute of the kneeling leg.
  3. Shift your weight gently forward until you feel a stretch at the front of the kneeling hip.
  4. Hold for the set time, then switch sides.

Coaching cues

  • The tailbone tuck matters more than how far you lean forward.
  • Pad your knee with a folded towel or cushion.
