How to do it
- Stand tall with your feet together and your toes pointing forward.
- Take a wide step to one side and push your hips back as that knee bends.
- Keep the other leg straight and both feet flat, lowering until you feel a stretch in the straight leg.
- Push off the bent leg to return to standing, then alternate sides.
Coaching cues
- Sit back into the hip rather than letting the bent knee dive forward.
- Take a smaller step at first and build the range as your hips loosen up.
