How to do it

  1. Sit with your legs straight and loop a band around the balls of your feet, holding the ends in your hands.
  2. Pull the band taut so your toes are drawn back toward you.
  3. Point your toes away against the band until your ankles are fully extended.
  4. Return slowly to the start, letting the band stretch your calves.

Coaching cues

  • Shorten the band in your hands for more tension.
  • Move only at the ankle, keep your knees still.
