How to do it
- Stand on the middle of a band with your feet hip width and hold a handle in each hand at your sides.
- Keep a slight bend in your elbows and your shoulders down.
- Raise both arms out to the sides until your hands reach shoulder height.
- Lower slowly back to your sides against the band tension.
Coaching cues
- Use a light band, the tension builds fast near the top of the raise.
- Lead with your elbows rather than your hands.
