How to do it

  1. Stand on the middle of a band with your feet hip width apart and hold a handle in each hand.
  2. Bring your hands to shoulder height with your palms facing forward and the band taut.
  3. Press straight overhead until your arms are locked out.
  4. Lower under control back to shoulder height without letting the band snap you down.

Coaching cues

  • Stand on more of the band or use a wider stance for extra tension.
  • Keep your ribs down so you are not arching your lower back to press.
