How to do it

  1. Hold a light band with both hands at shoulder width and raise your arms straight in front of your chest.
  2. Keep your elbows straight but not locked and your shoulders down.
  3. Pull the band apart until your arms make a wide T and the band touches your chest.
  4. Return under control to the start without letting the band snap back.

Coaching cues

  • Lead the movement with your shoulder blades sliding together.
  • Use a light band and higher reps, this is about control rather than load.
