How to do it

  1. Hold a light band in front of your thighs with your hands much wider than your shoulders.
  2. Keep your arms straight and your ribs down, then raise the band overhead.
  3. Continue back and down behind you as far as is comfortable, letting the band stretch.
  4. Reverse the path back to the front and repeat slowly for the set time.

Coaching cues

  • Start with a very wide grip and narrow it only as your shoulders open up.
  • Keep your elbows straight and stop before you have to arch your back.
