How to do it

  1. Anchor a band at knee height and step into it so it pulls the back of one knee forward.
  2. Step back until the band is taut and stand with that foot flat on the floor.
  3. Let the band bend your knee slightly, then straighten it fully by squeezing your quad.
  4. Hold for a second at full extension, then let the knee bend again under control.

Coaching cues

  • The range is small, only the last part of straightening the knee.
  • Keep your hips level and your torso upright rather than leaning back.
