How to do it

  1. Stand on one foot with your fingertips resting on a wall for balance.
  2. Press through the ball of that foot to lift your heel as high as possible.
  3. Pause at the top with your ankle stacked over your foot.
  4. Lower slowly to the floor, finish the set and switch legs.

Coaching cues

  • Stand on a step so your heel can drop below the toes for a full stretch.
  • Keep the working knee almost straight so the calf does the work.
