How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with one knee bent and that foot flat, and lift the other leg off the floor.
  2. Tuck your ribs down and brace your core.
  3. Drive through the planted heel to lift your hips until your body is in a straight line.
  4. Hold the top for a second with your hips level, then lower under control and switch sides after the set.

Coaching cues

  • Keep both hips at the same height, do not let the free side drop.
  • Bend the free leg and keep the knee tucked toward your chest if the straight leg pulls you crooked.
