How to do it
- Stand with your feet hip width and a soft bend in your knees.
- Hinge at the hips and let your torso hang down toward the floor.
- Let your head and arms hang heavy, holding opposite elbows if that feels better.
- Hold for the set time, then roll up slowly or hinge back up with a flat back.
Coaching cues
- Bend your knees as much as you need, the stretch should be in the hamstrings not the lower back.
- Breathe out slowly and let the position deepen on its own rather than pulling yourself down.
