How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet hip width and a soft bend in your knees.
  2. Hinge at the hips and let your torso hang down toward the floor.
  3. Let your head and arms hang heavy, holding opposite elbows if that feels better.
  4. Hold for the set time, then roll up slowly or hinge back up with a flat back.

Coaching cues

  • Bend your knees as much as you need, the stretch should be in the hamstrings not the lower back.
  • Breathe out slowly and let the position deepen on its own rather than pulling yourself down.
