How to do it

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip width apart and your hands on your hips.
  2. Step forward with one leg and lower until both knees are bent to about 90 degrees.
  3. Push through the front foot to stand and bring the back foot through into the next step.
  4. Keep walking forward, alternating legs, for the set number of steps.

Coaching cues

  • Take a long enough step that your front knee stays over your ankle, not far past your toes.
  • Keep your torso tall and your eyes forward instead of looking down.
